Who We Are
We’re Dan and Lauren, the Mr & Mrs team behind Funky Timber Ltd. We launched our family business back in 2019 with a shared passion for timber, creative design, and a deep appreciation for the details that make a space feel special. For us, it’s never been about blending in — we believe life’s too short for bland, boring, copy-and-paste homes (or anything else, really).
Funky Timber was born from the idea that individuality matters. We wanted to help people create spaces that reflect who they are, with characterful, high-quality timber products that stand out from the mass-produced crowd.
Then 2020 arrived. Like so many, the pandemic forced us to sink or swim — and we swam like mad. Through uncertainty and change, we worked tirelessly to grow, support our team, and adapt. What started as a small local business quickly expanded into supplying homes and commercial spaces across the UK. We’re now proud to be recognised as one of the UK’s leading suppliers of reclaimed and new timber cladding. We’ve received multiple industry awards and continue to grow into new areas, constantly expanding our range to offer as many unique, high-quality timber cladding products as possible — always with creativity and sustainability at the core.
Our company is built around our young family and shaped by values we live by every day: creativity, independence, quality of life, and meaningful work-life balance. We’re proud of our amazing team — from skilled joiners and warehouse staff to our friendly sales crew — all of whom work hard to help Funky Timber grow while staying true to our roots. With over 23 years of carpentry experience, we’re passionate about craftsmanship and sustainability. We take recycling seriously, and we’re committed to being as green as possible: all our pallets are locally and responsibly sourced, our packaging is eco-conscious, and we operate an electric vehicle fleet. All our new timber is FSC-certified and comes from UK mills, helping us reduce our carbon footprint and support local industries.
